Tailboard Camera c1890
Wratten & Wainwright, London, England.
Established in the 1877, primarily plate and chemical makers, however for
a time in the 1880s and 1890s advertising cameras. Not sure to be
the actual manufacturer (ref. British Camera Makers). It could have
been made by W.Morley, London, check out the many similarities to
Rob
Niederman's Morley wet plate camera.
This example is a tailboard dry plate camera, with "Meagher style"
side wing support, for plate size 4x5" or 5x5". Mahogany body
with brass trim and dark brown square parallel bellows. Brass lens by
Wray, London with wheel stops.
